Palmer 1-co. of Lond.Y., with ribbon; WWII white enamel sign 'Precautions A W Bombs', 30.4 x 20.2cm; wristwatch engraved to back with Royal Artillery crest (overwound); A.R.P whistle, by J. Important group of 9 war medals awarded to 22980311 Sgt. William Andrew Potton (05.03.1921-25.07.2011), 3rd East Anglian Regiment, including 7 Second World War and 2 Elizabeth II, comprising 1939-45 star, Atlantic star with "France and Germany" clasp, Africa star with "North Africa 1942-42" clasp, Burma star with the "Pacific" clasp, Italy star, Defence medal, War medal, Elizabeth II General Service medal with clasp "Malaya", and Long Service and Good Conduct medal, 1st type, with clasp "Regular Army", on bar, together with their miniatures (Pacific clasp missing), and a Pingat Jasa Malaysia medal with miniature, cased. Also included are photocopies of his record of service, other information, and a photocopy of him and his son, Andrew (b.18.08.1948), both wearing their medals. (At the beginning of WWII, Bill was serving in the Falkland Islands as a Royal Marine on HMS Cumberland and then HMS Ajax, taking part in the Battle of the River Plate. During the rest of the war, served on various ships, including at least two that were sunk. Was on HMS Warspite during the D-Day Landings. Later, served in the Far East with Royal Marines Commandos).
