Two Regency period oval portrait miniatures with locks of hair to reverse in matching brass oval frames. Study of a gentleman with ruff collar, waistcoat & blue jacket with brass buttons. To reverse a hair curl with gilt braid bow & pearl band, with a blue plaque with the
initials WW written in pearls, all set on opalescent glass panel. Approx. 7x 5.5cm not including frame. Study of a lady in white blouse with pearl band to her hair. Bears initials too unclear to decipher. To reverse a hair knot. Approx. 7.5x 6cm not including frame.

Our two day first fine sale of the year includes the Margaret Bide Collection of antique textiles and art from the estate of Paul Wengraf (1894 - 1978) Austrian émigré art dealer and others including works by Giacometti, Souza, Schiele, Josef Herman, Johannes Fischer, Friedl Dicker-Brandeis; silver, jewellery, furniture, ceramics, a gentleman's collection of glass and wine related antiques.

Margaret’s passion for her subject ignited on her first day studying and never diminished. Her association with Farnham Art College, now UCA, lasted for over thirty years, as student, lecturer and finally department head.
